Here's My #1 Tip For Longer Golf Drives Includes Instructions

Hi

If you put a gun to my head and said...

"give me your best tip to help me hit longer drives."

...here's what I would say.

Focus on hitting the ball out of the center of the clubface more often. You do that and you WILL hit the ball longer. Because Golf Digest did a study, where they found these results for a 100 mph swing...

Center Hit - 258 yards 1/2 inch off center - 243 yards 3/4 inch off center - 237 yards 1 inch off center - 227

So contacting a golf ball an inch off the center of the clubface with a 100 mph swing speed, results in a 31 yard loss of distance!

Now a close second to that advice would be to speed up your swing at impact. That's because for every 1 mph of swing speed you improve by, you'll gain about 2.2 yards in distance.

So if you swing at 90mph at impact and you increase that by 10 mph, then you would have gained about 22 yards in distance!

Now imagine, combining swinging faster with hitting the ball in the middle of the clubface more often.

That's a great combination, and I'm going to give you two things you can do the next time you go to the driving range to help you do that.

The first tip is to help you swing faster, and it's really simple.

When you're at the driving range, in between shots turn your driver upside down and swing it as fast as you can. Then carry that "speed" over to your next shot and feel the difference.

By doing that, it will force you to swing faster than you're maybe used to - which is a good thing, because your mind likes to keep things exactly the same.

Now that increase in swing speed is only going to be of much use if you hit the center of the clubface more often.

To help you do that you need to get some feedback on where you're hitting your driver.

But sadly, because the drivers these days can be so dead when you hit them, it's tough to know when you hit it right out of the screws. However, it is doable if you increase your awareness.

And to help you do this I want you to get some impact tape and put it on your driver.

Then, hit your drives with your faster swing speed. After you hit each shot I then want you to predict where on the clubface your ball hit.

The strange thing about this is that often times awareness can be curative. For example, if you think you're hitting the ball out of the middle of the clubface but 9 times out of 10 it's on the toe you'll naturally make corrections in your swing to hit the ball more in the middle of the clubface.

If you didn't know this, of course you wouldn't do anything different, because you wouldn't know there was a problem.

But please remember this... you never want to think about impact or what you're doing at impact.

Impact is not a position, it's something you move through and you should not be thinking when you're doing this.

So when you're being aware of your impact ball position, do not try to hit the ball on the center of the clubface. Use observation and awareness to improve your results.

So there you go... use those two tips to help you hit longer drives and enjoy playing golf more.

Now something else that will help you to make a massive difference to your ball striking is if you follow this proven step-by-step program to build yourself a tour pro quality golf swing.

One Strange Tip For Longer Drives golf

There's one aspect of your setup that has a BIG influence on the distance you hit your shots.  And that one part is...

Alignment

So in this article I'm going to give you a great, simple way to help you improve your alignment and consequently hit longer golf shots.

To do this golf alignment exercise setup to a golf shot as normal and get comfortable.

Then just before you're ready to hit your shot, get two golf balls and without moving your feet place them directly behind your heels so they're touching your feet.

Now take your feet away and go back behind your ball down the line of your target and see how good your alignment was.

The beauty of doing this golf alignment exercise is that it shows you exactly where you are aligning your feet and then you can simply change the golf balls so they align correctly and then setup with these balls touching your heels.

If your feet have been aligned incorrectly for a while then it will feel quite strange when you align them correctly. But keep practicing and before long, your new feet golf alignment will become second nature.

You'll hit longer shots...and straighter too!

How To Load Up Like A Spring In Your Backswing For Longer Drives golf

To get the most power in your backswing you...

...need to wind your shoulders up as much as possible against your hips, which should be restricted in their turn.

The more torque you create between your shoulders and hips, the more power and distance you'll get.

Now your backswing should start with your big muscles, namely your shoulders, arms, hands etc. and your hips should not move for as long as possible.

Once your shoulders and arms get to a certain point your hips will have to move, but again this should happen as a result of your shoulder turn and not before.

Your shoulders should always turn more than your hips and for this to happen you must start your backswing first with your shoulders until they pull the hips to a start. This is nothing that you want to consciously do but something, which you can train to happen, and here's how....

Grip halfway down the shaft of a club with the butt-end resting against your sternum, and move your arms and shoulders as far as you can without turning your hips. That is the point in your golf swing when your hips should start turning, not before.

Another good way to rehearse the correct turning sequence is to sit in a chair and swing your arms and turn your shoulders as far as you can.
Eventually there comes a point where your hips won't let you turn any further - this will vary depending on your flexibility - and again that would be the point in your golf swing when the hips should begin to turn.

Your shoulders must move faster than your hips as you start your backswing because they have further to turn.

And for your shoulders and hips to be in sync you must do what has been described because otherwise if you let your hips turn too soon in your backswing you'll be all out of sync in your backswing and the rest of your swing will be history.

How to swing the club for longer drives golf

Hi

When most golfers try to hit the ball further they use brute force.  This does not work because the club needs to be swung faster not harder.

And today I have a great drill to "feel" how to swing the clubhead for more speed.

To do this golf drill simply setup to a golf ball and grip the golf club as you normally would.

BUT move your grip up the club so that you have the last two fingers of your top hand off the end of the golf grip. Once you have done this then swing with this "new" golf grip.

By doing this it will force you to place a lot less emphasis on your hands and arms as your big muscles will be forced to control the golf swing.

And what you want to feel when doing this golf drill is that the golf ball simply gets in the way of your golf swing.

You shouldn't force anything, especially with your golf grip. Remember to "swing the golf club" and not "hit the golf ball". The golf ball is hit as the result of you "swinging the golf club"!

So please do this golf drill and you'll get a much better feeling of swinging the golf club rather than hitting the ball.

Don't however expect to hit the golf ball great when doing this golf drill.

That's not the point of this golf drill. Instead when doing this drill you should be focusing of the feelings that go along with swinging with the different grip.

Then you can transfer those feelings over to your normal golf swing, which can only help you to hit the ball further.

Finally remember, the golf ball should just get in the way of your golf swing. You should not "try" to hit the golf ball.

One Great Exercise For Longer Golf Drives

Hi

The golf swing involves your body turning, right?

Well, if you want to swing better so you hit longer golf drives then you should practice turning, and you don't need a golf club to do this.

But before I give you this exercise I just need to explain that doing passive exercises is not going to have a huge positive effect on your golf swing. And when I say passive exercises, I mean doing a stretch and holding it.

The reason for this is because when you swing a golf club you are moving, so it doesn't make sense to do exercises that require a lot of holding.

When stretching to hit longer drives you want to be moving!

One example of a great exercise you can do to help yourself hit longer golf drives is called the twister. To do this exercise you simply get a dumbbell or a medicine ball and hold it against your chest.

Then with the dumbbell or medicine ball in place, setup as though you are about to swing a golf club but have your feet a fraction wider apart than normal.

Once you are ready then simply rotate your upper body from one side to the other, and as you're doing this shift your weight from one side to the other.

When you're doing this exercise try to increase your turn on each side for each rotation, but be sure to do this in a controlled manner and use common sense. Don't rush this to start with, but as you get more used to the motion then you can increase the speed.

Always make sure you are turning fully as you're doing this. You can do this exercise every day if you wish, for say 20 repetitions.

This will help you to make a bigger turn in your golf swing and consequently you'll hit longer golf drives.  And to add lot's more distance to all of your shots go here and check out the Golf Swing Speed Challenge here:

Imagine if in the next 2 months you really did add 30+ yards to your  drives and became fitter than you ever have been before.

Here's The Silent Killer For Longer Golf Drives

(and what to do about it) Don't do this for longer golf drives... If you do this you'll cost yourself at least 30 yards off the tee...

Hi  We all know that the faster we swing the further the ball goes. And everyone wants to hit longer drives.  But there's a BIG problem when most people try and swing faster.

You see, when most golfers try and increase swing speed they think they need to swing hard and that's very bad.  Swinging fast is completely different than swinging hard. And one of the biggest differences is in muscle tension.

To swing FAST you must be very relaxed when you're swinging. Tension in your swing is a silent killer when it comes to hitting the golf ball further.  A tense muscle is a slow muscle.

So here's a great way to help you reduce tension in your golf swing so you swing faster.  Setup to swing your driver, but before you start to swing tense up your entire body, particularly your arms and shoulders, and then hold this tension and swing as fast as you can.

Naturally you won't be able to swing very fast when you're doing this.  But that's fine because immediately after doing this release the tension and take another swing with relaxed muscles and try to swing as fast as possible.

When you do this exercise you'll notice a HUGE difference in speed from the first golf swing to the second golf swing.  For more great tips like this to increase your swing speed and a complete program designed specifically by a sports scientist to help you swing faster and hit the ball further go here:

Two quick tips for a longer first drive golf

Hi

The next time you play golf you obviously want to hit a long, straight drive off the 1st tee.

Well, today I'm going to give you 2 simple things to help you do exactly that.

The first thing you can must do to hit at least a longer drive off the 1st is to do some active stretches before you tee off.

Why?

Because it's been found that golfers who do this hit the first drive over 10 yards longer than golfers who do not warm up.

You can do simple calisthenics for your warm up like star jumps, toe touches, body twists etc.

But whatever you do make sure it uses as much of the body as possible. Do this and you will hit a longer drive compared to if you hadn't done the warmup.

The next important aspect you must be aware of in order to hit a long straight drive off the 1st hole is how you tee up the golf ball.

You see, if you suffer from a slice problem then you need to know that by teeing the ball up higher than normal it will help you to fix your slice.

Equally if you have a hook problem you can simply tee the ball lower to help rectify this problem.

So let's sum up the 2 simple things you can do to help you hit a long, straight shot off the 1st tee the next time you play golf.

The first thing I mentioned was the need to warm up. Do this for at least 5 minutes before you tee off.
The second thing I suggested was to take particular notice of how you're teeing up the ball. For example, if you suffer from a slice or a hook problem then when you're teeing up your golf ball do so either higher or lower than you normally would, according to which swing flaw you have, to help you hit a straighter, longer drive.

If you do these 2 simple things you're bound to hit a better drive off the 1st and that will help you to enjoy the rest of the round more.
